In the framework of April 2, the President announced before the National Council of for Affairs Relative to the Malvinas three bills to increase benefits for veterans

 

 

In the week in which the Argentine people commemorate the Day of the Veterans and Fallen of the Malvinas War, President Alberto Fernández announced that he will send three bills to Congress with measures to increase benefits for veterans and pointed out that “Argentine society still owes a very important debt to each of the men who participated in the conflict” of Malvinas.

The Minister of Defense, Agustín Rossi, together with the Secretary of Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Daniel Filmus, and the leaders of the Argentine Armed Forces, led in the Plaza de Armas of the Libertador Building the act in commemoration of the Day of the Veterans and Fallen of the Malvinas War, on the 39th anniversary of the conflict in the South Atlantic. “This date invites us to look at Malvinas from different perspectives, we choose that of sovereignty, and that of those who wrote its most glorious pages”, said Rossi before the veterans that attended the ceremony.

Commemoration of April 2 at the Malvinas Museum

 

 

A very touching event was held at the Malvinas and South Atlantic Islands Museum to commemorate the Day of the Veterans and Fallen of the Malvinas War. The activity at the former ESMA concluded with a group of veterans, including a nurse from the icebreaker Almirante Irízar, singing León Gieco's anthem “Sólo le pido a Dios” (I only ask God), next to the Argentine flag.

Argentina responded to Boris Johnson that it only recognizes the path of dialogue to recover the effective exercise of sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands

 

 

In response to the statement made by the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the House of Commons, in which he presented an Integrated Review of Security, Defense, Development and Foreign Policy and the intention to maintain the military presence in the Malvinas Islands, the Argentine Republic maintained, once again, that it is necessary for the United Kingdom to listen to the call of the international community which advocates for the end of colonialism, restart the dialogue to peacefully resolve the sovereignty dispute over the Malvinas Islands and comply with United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2065 (XX).

Specialists from the Argentine Antarctic Institute detected the detachment of a large iceberg using images from the SAOCOM 1A satellite
