REGRESAR

Film screening "Feeling Piazzolla" - At the Haydon-Allen Lecture Theater, ANU on October 26, 2017 at 6.00 p.m.

The Embassy of Argentina and the Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies proudly present "Feeling Piazzolla", the first documentary that is entirely dedicated to the legendary Argentine composer and musician Astor Piazzolla dubbed ‘tango revolutionary’.

“Feeling Piazzolla” analyses the melancholy in the music of one of Argentina’s most internationally acclaimed composers. The documentary also explores Piazzolla’s personality and relates certain episodes of his life based on his own records and through the accounts of his son Daniel Piazzolla, a musician himself, Laura Escalada (his second wife and the President of the Astor Piazzolla Foundation) as well as other important artistic personalities and his contemporaries such as Horacio Ferrer, Daniel Binelli, Guillermo Bermúdez and Victor Oliveros.

The film also features dance sequences choreographed by Fernanda Ganz and the music score performed by the renowned musicians Daniel Binelli (bandoneon), Olga Pinchuk (violin) and Guillermo Stamponi (piano).

“Feeling Piazzolla”, directed by Pablo Rho and based on Guillermo Stamponi’s script, is a product of years of investigation, which presents little known material and is a unique opportunity to understand Piazzolla’s music and its capacity to thrill the whole world
