The Governor General of Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove, visited Argentina between the 8 and the 10 of August, 2016.

President Mauricio Macri had a private meeting with the Governor General; he hosted a lunch in his honour, and he distinguished the ilustrious guest with the Order of Libertador General San Martin in the grade of necklace.

Foreign Minister Ms. Susana Malcorra also received Sir Cosgrove and, after laiding a wreath at the monument to General San Martin, they had a working meeting.

It is the first visit of a Governor General of Australia to Argentina and a historical milestone that shows the excellent current momentum of bilateral relations.
