On 18 July the Argentine Embassy hosted an event to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the terrorist attack against the AMIA Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires. Ambassador Gowland reiterated Argentina's unfaltering commitment to peace and international security, as well as the firm decision to achieve justice for this tragic episode of our history.
We especially thank the presence of Israeli Ambassador, Amir Maimon; ACT Commissioner for International Engagement, Brendan Smyth, officials from DFAT and the Department of Home Affairs, and representatives from the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, Chabad ACT and the ACT Jewish Community.
