The Government of the Province of San Juan invites producers, technicians and industry professionals to participate in ArgOliva 2026, an international event designed to strengthen and promote the development of the olive sector, bringing together all actors, from nurseries and olive growers to processors and end consumers, in a unique space of professionalism and experience exchange.
At the heart of the event is the XIV International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition – Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Award, acknowledged as the most important olive oil competition in the Americas, certified by a jury integrated by the Tasting Panel of the Universidad Católica de Cuyo together with International COI Judges. The award ceremony will take place on September 3rd, 2026.
The programme includes:
- International Competition – Sensory evaluation of extra virgin olive oils by COI-certified judges and university tasting panels.
- International Business Round – Connecting foreign buyers with Argentine producers organised by the Government of San Juan.
- Training Sessions – National and international specialists sharing the latest scientific and technological advances in the sector, available both in-person and virtually.
- Tasting and Guided Tastings – Experts leading sessions on how to evaluate different categories of olive oil and olives through sensory analysis.
- Cooking Show – Local chefs showcasing San Juan's gastronomy using olive oils and regional ingredients.
In previous editions, ArgOliva has brought together 78 EVOO samples from 9 countries and 7 Argentine provinces in the competition alone, alongside 800 business round meetings and 1,783 participants in technical sessions.
