The Argentine Republic condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack perpetrated on Sunday in Sydney, Australia, which resulted in fatalities and numerous injuries, in an act of violence directed against innocent civilians, particularly Jewish families gathered to celebrate Chanukah.

The Argentine Government expresses its condolences to the families of the victims and its solidarity with the people of Australia, especially the Jewish community, the target of this attack motivated by hatred and intolerance.

Argentina reaffirms that antisemitism constitutes a serious threat to democratic coexistence and fundamental values and reiterates its absolute condemnation of all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, regardless of their motivation or location.
